In reading articles for my Organic Inquiry paper which is on women artists who create sacred art, I came across a very interesting article by Peggy Wright where she talks about how women develop differently then men with regard to spirituality. She has this concept of permeable boundaries that she uses to explain how women develop spiritually.
I find her ideas fascinating because as I study women artists who create sacred art, I keep getting this sense that women have a different connection to the Divine then men. That sacred art comes naturally to women when we begin the process of healing ourselves from the wounds that patriarchy inflict on us. That healing, transformation, and sacred art are intrinsically linked together in the creative process.
