snake shedding its skin

I awoke this morning at some dark hour with a cat draped across my legs and a dream of a snake shedding its skin. I have been getting lots of Motherpeace tarot cards about staying in the flow and being with myself. Sort of a sense that I was still in the dark womb gestating and not yet ready to emerge.

I have not touched a ball of clay in two weeks as I have been creating / writing term papers about reciprocity in the Aboriginal culture and stories of Crones in my life and histories of priestesses in my mother line. I have had to dig deep to find the threads and connect them; they were buried in me and I found more than I expected. I finished most of the writing yesterday.

Yesterday I drew the Motherpeace Sun card which is nothing like the Sun cards in the other tarot decks. Its about emerging into the sunlight and coming out of oneself. Its about birth and joy and light. The snake shedding its skin is a symbol of rebirth and immortality. The card and the snake seem to go together.

Tomorrow I have a big presentation / performance piece on my spiritual autobiography. I realized, in practicing it, that to be able to articulate my personal spiritual journey is to begin to emerge.
