Tree of Life

This mixed media piece is a herstory of my life and the influences that shaped my path in this world. The women of my matrilineal line are part of the roots on the bottom left side. The animals that walked with me on the lower right side. The trunk of the tree incorporates myself as a child. The leaves of the tree include my daughter, my art, jewels from my grandmother, and many other elements. What shapes us can be a gift or a burden - it is in the acknowledgement of that, that we become ourselves.
