Held in the Heart of the Goddess

This painting was inspired by a photograph of fellow artist, Mandisa Wood. She had taken a meditative close-up of herself which seemed filled with serenity and peace.

It was a period of much change in my life and when I started painting an image of a woman's face emerged - wrapped with feathers of light. It felt very comforting. A sense that whatever else might be swirling around her, she knows she is held in the heart of the Goddess, just as she holds the Goddes in her heart.
